While a group of PLL pros from all 8 teams are in Japan sharing and showcasing the Creator's Game, a few GMs have made some moves.
GM/ Head Coach Nat St. Laurent has made another move. The 'Woods signed former Denver Pio LSM Malik Sparrow. Sparrow was a disruptor from box to box for former Denver Head Coach Bill Tierney. The rangey LSM boots the Redwoods defenses who has gotten younger in this free agency period. Eddy Glazener and John Sexton have yet to re-sign with the 'Woods could these free agency moves be a foreshadowing of what's to come with Sexton and Glazener retiring? Or is Coach Nat just being cautious? If the two former Notre Dame long poles don't comeback the Redwoods defense will have some work to do to rebuild itself. The first off season free agency period ends of May 7th the day of the PLL college draft, so teams and players have time to come to agreements. Last piece on the 'Woods, they have yet to add a backup goalie as Jack Kelly remains the only keeper on the roster.
The other team active in free agency was the Utah Archers. GM/Head Coach Chris Bates has signed his lethal lefty shooter Mac O'Keefe who is pulling double duty as he plays for the San Diego Seals in the NLL and is part of D3 Gettsyburg College coaching staff. O'Keefe every year as a pro in the PLL has played in the championship game one win and one loss with the Chaos and last season winning another championship with the Archers, not a bad way to start your professional lacrosse career.
