Each day of free agency lets more puzzle pieces fall into place. We'll start today with the crazy men who stand in the goal and stop shots coming at over 90 miles-per-hour directly at that them with limited padding. The goalies. Jack Concannon, the only regular starting goalie for the Atlas, announced that he has retired from playing pro lacrosse. The news was rather surprising, but makes sense why Tim Troutner left the Redwoods and joined the Atlas. Concannon was a good goalie for the men in powder blue and after six seasons of pro lacrosse his career has come to an end.
Staying with the position of goalie; Blaze Riorden re-signs with the Chaos. It was an easy choice I'd imagine for GM Towers. The Chaos look ready to make a deep playoff push in the 2024 season.
Speaking of a deep playoff push the Waterdogs re-signed midfield shooter Jack Hannah. It looks like the only significant loss the Waterdogs will suffer this offseason will be Andy Copelan stepping down as head coach. Who will be at the head of the table for the Philadelphia Waterdogs...
The Redwoods made some 'suprising' additions by signing to two players: Ron John and Alex Simmons. Both guys played their high school and college lacrosse in the state of New York, and both men currently play NLL ball in New York. John for the New York Riptide and Simmons with the Albany Firewolves. Simmons is lighting it up on the offensive side with Albany who are tied for first overall in the standings. The former Denver Pio and Syracuse Orangman is another offensive weapon for the 'Woods. Ron John is a do it all midfielder who might be a key piece in transition for the 'Woods. Like Brian Tevlin, Ron John can play as an offensive and defensive midfielder plus he can pick up a long pole on man down situations. GM Nat is retooling the lost pieces from the first two days of free agency.
Each day we move closer and closer to our favorite time of the year...the PLL season!
