The players and GMs were less boustarious today during free agency than opening day, but some important players stayed in place and a few Championship Series standouts got full time contracts.
At the top of the list Mikey Sowers stayed with the Waterdogs, not surprising considering the team's and his own success the last two seasons. There was some more good news for the Dawgs as Jake Richard left the only PLL team he has known (NY Atlas) to join the 2022 Champions. The SSDM unit, which was already stout for the Waterdogs just got stronger.
Speaking of the Atlas former D3 standout Ronan Jacoby gets a regular season contract from New York after playing well with the Archers during the 2024 Championship Series. Jacoby put up 20 points in four games. Now he has a chance to show what he can do in the PLL regular season. Ricky Miezan another player who got his first PLL opportunity this winter in the Championship Series stays with the California Redwoods for the next two seasons. GM/HC Nat St. Laurent continues the theme a huge midfielders for his franchise. Day 1 of free agency Sergio Perkovic leaves, day 2 Ricky Miezan signs for the Woods. The Redwoods also added Canadian Holden Garlent from the player pool. The lefty long pole played for the Cannons in 2021 and 2022, but didn't appear for any PLL teams during the 2023 season. Four players left on day 1 for the 'Woods on day 2 they half the deficit by adding Miezan and Garlent.
What will day 3 of free agency hold for teams and players?
