The PLL Arrives In Boston

Most people would hit you with a Boston themed intro or pun, but instead I'll just say the PLL is coming back to the home of the MLL's version of the Boston Cannons at Harvard Stadium. Throw all those Boston puns into the harbor, couldn't resist this one.

Last week the Atlas lost to their old foe the Whipsnakes, a much more contentious matchup in the 2019 season when the Hopkins and Maryland contingents were more prominent. The Maryland flavor for is still there for the Whips, but all the John's Hopkins Blue Jays have gone from the Atlas. Either way this week we get a battle of the last two Number 1 overall picks in the PLL draft. Gavin Adler vs Brennan O'Neill. The Atlas make one change, this week they bring back Ronan Jacoby as rookie Peyton Cormier is left off the roster. Who starts in goal for the Atlas, last week Tim Troutner was benched for rookie Liam Entenmann. I didn't think Trounter could hold off the rookie forever.

The week of Canada Day sees rookie Canadian Dyson Williams hit the Utah Archers' roster. Even Graeme Hossack couldn't save Utah last week, tough go for the Archers. Siss has had an up and down start to the season, a better performance at the spot won't be easy against an improving Joe Nardella.

This week the Cannons as the homecoming team host two teams in Boston. The older Kavanagh returns while the younger one is placed on the IR. Jonathan Donville is also injured which means the rookie Alexander Vardaro gets to return to the roster. How will the Cannons roster hold up in back to back games?

The Outlaws won last week after holding the Redwoods scoreless in the 4th quarter. This week the Hefty Lefty Sean Sconone returns. There's an old saying in sports that you can't lose your job because of injury. I guess that means Sconone gets to start in cage against the Atlas. Luke Wierman is facing down Trevor Baptiste this week after going 6-21 against Td Irelan in last weeks victory.

After four weeks and three games the Redwoods are the only team to not win a game, it's not looking good. There's still time to right the ship and get the first win of the season. Ricky Miezan makes his first PLL regular season appearance, is this the boost the 'Woods need to get a 1 in the win column? We can only hope as Redwoods supporters. Ron John misses out and he's the only change from last weeks roster in Minnesota.

The Waterdogs and Bill Tierney got the win last weekend, the first of Coach's pro career, but certainly not his last. If causation vs correlation is something form some science class you remember then you might be thinking the Waterdogs won because Alec Stathakis was on the roster. Maybe that's true or maybe it's because Jack Hannah returned to the team. Either way this week they get the the Cannons in the second of their back to back games. One change; in comes Brandau out goes Carraway.

The Whipsnakes have been shed their old skin and regrown a new one. And like actually snake skin this one is younger than the previous one. Rookie all over the place for the Whips and multiple second year players . Alex Mazzone comes to make his Whipsnake debut after playing for the Waterdogs last season. Can the youth movement continue to produce and win for the Whipsnakes?
