Thoughts, Facts, Camp Position Battles (CPB)
Two Matt's, Zac and Zach, a Mikey and a Mikie, plus a Chris and a Christian
The Champs are back, and they returned all their free agents except for retiree's captain Steve DeNapoli and sharpshooter Ryan Brown. Brown's minutes had reduced towards the end of the season and in his place, they brought in former Atlas player Jake Carraway. DeNap's presences won't be as easy to recreate, but the Waterdogs culture is strong, and the leadership is there for the men in purple. Kerian McArdle has already been named captain alongside Liam Byrnes.
CPB- One notable omission from the Dawgs roster is starting faceoff athlete Jake Withers who is currently on the Holdout list. Two young players Zac Tucci & James Reilly will battle it out at the faceoff spot.
CPB- The Dawgs starting defense was strong in 2022 and it got stronger through the 2023 college draft with the addition of All-Americans Chris Fake and Alex Mazzone. Which poles make the roster will be a battle for the ages.
Coach Copelan must be hoping that his roster stays healthy through the season because he has enough talent to repeat in 2023.
