Queen City Stand Up! Week Two PLL Rosters and Injury Report

Week Two Injury Report
  • Some pretty big players missing this week for a few PLL teams.

  • No Grant Ament this week for the Archers after he left the game in the second half against the Cannons.

  • The Waterdogs are missing Jack Hannah this week, while the Whips are again without Jake Bernhardt and Brad Smith.

  • Atlas' top SSDM, Danny Logan is listed as doubt after he left their game last weekend with what is being called an abdominal contusion.

Archers Week Two Roster
  • NO GRANT AMENT for the Archers this week alert the presses! Grant picked up a knock last week in a win against the Cannons and will not play this week. It looks like Connor Desimone will slot in to the third attackman spot alongside Connor Fields and Mac O'Keefe.

  • Finally, we get to see Warren Jeffrey back on the field in an Archers uniform. Seriously, I'm so hyped for this huge defensive line up of Hossack, McMahon, and 'War Pig'. Jeffrey being back means Reece Eddy who started on close defense last game is bumped to the reserve roster.

  • Ryan Aughavin is also making his debut this season for the men in orange and blue.

  • Coach Bates also released Chris Campbell, Andrew Darby, and 2019 original Archer Mark McNeill to the player pool. The emergence of rookies Connor Maher and Piper Bond means that McNeill who played in almost every game for the Archers since the beginning of the PLL is now in the Player Pool. I imagine McNeill will end up on another PLL roster before the summer is done.

Atlas Week Two Roster
  • Coach Mike Pressler has made some roster changes in his first two games that have set social media a blaze, not that it matters to coach Pressler, he's just trying to win games. On June 6th, Pressler released Cade van Raaphorst to the player pool after CVR was not on the game day roster for week one. On that same day Pressler also added Stephen Rehfuss to the roster, but we won't get to see the former Orangeman this week in powder blue as he's not on the week two roster.

  • Danny Logan is on the 19-man roster this week, but on the weekly injury report Logan is listed as doubtful, so will we see Chet Comizio for the first time in PLL?

  • Week number 2 of asking for Koby Smith to be on the 19-man roster. When will we see the second year LSM out of Towson?

Cannons Week Two Roster
  • The Cannons for having a bunch of new pieces all over the field put up a fairly strong performance in a 13-16 loss last week against the Archers. They held them scoreless in the first quarter.

  • Coach Brian Holman released lefty attackman Stephen Rehfuss to the player pool after he wasn't on the 19-man roster for week one. This came as shock to the PLL community. Rehfuss has already been picked up by the Atlas.

  • If the Cannons want to get a win (which they obviously want to) they will need a better performance from Stephen Kelly who went 8-28 for 29% at the faceoff spot. Kelly faces another rookie in Nick Rowlett for the Chaos.

  • The Cannons will be without veteran Kyle Hartzell who picked up an injury during the game last weekend and in his place will be Ethan Rall.

  • The Cannons were the only team last weekend to go 100% on their Power Play opportunities. They also were tied for the second highest goal total last weekend, so scoring goals isn't the problem it's stopping them that's the issue for the Boom Squad. Coach Holman made a rather abrupt goalie switch last game pulling starting Adam Ghitelman, it will be interesting to see how the Cannons handle the goalie position this week. Ghitelman didn't play poorly, but it wasn't his best performance and he let in a few cheap ones.

Chaos Week Two Roster

  • 4 outa 6 of the ‘Aos Bandits have returned to the gameday roster for Coach Towers with a 5th in Max Adler on the reserve roster. Dhane Smith is the lone Buffalo Chaos member away from the team after just winning the NLL Finals, NLL Finals MVP, and getting engaged, congrats to Mr. and the future Mrs. Smith. I won't make the obvious double ring joke, because that fruit is too low hanging.

  • Last week the Chaos lost to the Waterdogs even with two incredible performances from Blaze Riorden and Nick Rowlett in cage and at the faceoff spot respectively. Blaze made 18 saves at 72%, while Rowlett went 13-18 at 72.2% with 7 GBs.

  • I expect that the goal total will increase for the Chaos offense, and I see no reason why the Chaos defense can’t hold the new look Cannons offense to a similar goal total.

  • Coach Towers released these players to Player Pool: Evan Zinn, Brett Kennedy, Jakob Patterson, Demitri George, Jerry Ragonese, and Jack Jasinski.

  • The Chrome dressed four SSDMs last week during week one and they will dress four SSDMs again in week two.

  • Dylan Molloy misses out for a second week in a row, and after Cross Ferrara's rookie debut it was hard to see how Coach Soudan could leave the rookie attackman at home this weekend.

  • The 19-man roster is unchanged this week, but Troy Hettinger and Kevin Rogers drop into the two reserve roster spots while Dylan Molloy and Greg Wyl drop out.

  • Big battle at the face off spot this game with Connor Farrell going against Mike Sisselberger who had an amazing game one for the Archers with 2 points, 14 GBs, and going 80% from the faceoff spot. Farrell went 50% at the stripe against rookie Petey LaSalla, but the 'Milk Man' won a crucial faceoff at the end of the game.

  • The Chrome defense will try to slow down the high-powered Archers offense who will be without their star attackman Grant Ament.

Redwoods Week Two Roster
  • No Brian Tevlin or Owen Grant for week two in Charlotte, but Cole Kirst will make his debut against the Waterdogs in place of Charlie Bertrand who picked up an injury last weekend in Albany.

  • The Mammoth Men have not made their return to the 'Woods. Those guys just finished a long NLL season and the Redwoods picked up a win last weekend, so why mess with a roster that got the win.

  • This week Coach Nat St. Laurent released attackman John Piatelli to the player pool. Piatelli was part of the trade with the Cannons for Matt Kavanagh, the other player involved in that trade Matt Rahill is part of the reserve roster this week with rookie faceoff man Zach Cole.

  • The 'Woods offense looked solid in game one, but still has room to improve. The 'Woods defense wasn't bad and gave up some incredible goals against the Atlas, but they also gave up some cheap goals due to too much ball watching. The Atlas had two off ball specialists in Eric Law and Xander Dickson, the Waterdogs probably don't have off ball players of the caliber, but they can't give up so many goals like that this weekend.

  • TD is facing a rookie this weekend and will being looking to improve from his 38% outing last week against Trevor Baptiste at the stripe.

Waterdogs Week Two Roster
  • Last week the Waterdogs squeaked out a victory against the depleted Chaos. This week they face an undefeated Redwoods team. One major difference from last weekend to this weekend is the return of Dillon Ward after the NLL Finals. As a side note Ward was looking to win back-to-back-to-back titles NLL-PLL-NLL again, but the Mammoth lost to the Bandits, so he'll just have to settle for back-to-back.

  • Jack Hannah is out with an injury and in his place coach Copelan has added rookie, out of Ohio State, Kyle Borda.

  • Christian Scarpello drops to the reserve roster and Charles Hayes steps in to take the third SSDM position.

  • Zach Currier scored off the opening face and was all over the field and recorded 3 CTs, 2 points, and 4 GBs, typical Currier statline.

  • Rookie James Reilly from Georgetown starts at the faceoff spot after Zac Tucci had a rough day at the office during week one going 4-14 for 29% at the faceoff spot against Chaos rookie Nick Rowlett. Reilly finished his final season in college at 58% from the faceoff spot. Reilly faces TD Irelan in his first pro game.

Whipsnakes Week Two Roster
  • The Whipsnakes get Zed Williams back for week two against the Atlas. Rookie Grayson Sallade will also make his PLL debut this weekend. This will be our first time seeing the potentially explosive attack line of Williams, Manny, Rambo.

  • No Brad Smith, Elijah Gash, or Jake Bernhardt as all three players are injured for the second week in a row.

  • Brett Kennedy was picked up by coach Stagnitta after being released to the player pool by the Chaos but is only on the reserve roster.

  • Petey LaSalla had a great day against Connor Farrell last week going 54% at the stripe, but he faces a different beast in Trevor Baptiste. I believe the Whipsnakes have never lost to the Atlas, will they keep that streak alive this weekend in Charlotte on ABC?
