Thoughts, Facts, Camp Position Battles (CPB)

  • Three Matt's, Two Adam's, Two Stephen's, a Patrick and a Pat, Plus a Jacob with a 'C' and a 'K'

  • The Cannons defense is revamped and has a lot of new faces on that side of the field, only Jacob Puller, Jack Kielty and Zach Goodrich played significant minutes last season.

  • Brodie Merrill is on the Holdout List, so it will be interesting to see when the Ageless Wonder makes his first appearance on the PLL field this summer.

  • CPB- Who starts in cage for the Cannon? Coach Holman didn't resign the Cannons starter for the last two seasons, Nick Marrocco, instead he picked up former Archers goalie Adam Ghitelman in free agency, who also coached under Holman at Utah. The Cannons also have Colin Kirst who saw action in two games as a rookie last season.

  • NO LYLE- The Cannons will be without their talisman Lyle Thompson in 2023, who puts up MVP numbers every season and draws so much attention from the defense. How Does Holman rearrange his attacking options to get more production from that side of the ball? Look for Ryan Drenner to have an increased role and new additions Marcus Holman, Matt Kavanagh, and Brent Adams to make a splash for the Cannons.

  • CPB- The Faceoff position is up for grabs Stephen Kelly has been a solid starter in the PLL, but has not been dominate, he does have the first ever PLL goal. Jakob Phaup only played in one game last season and went 38% from the spot, but he has the potential to be a very good Faceoff Athlete in the PLL.

  • The Cannons have a lot to figure out and not a lot of time to figure it out. They do not want a repeat of the 2022 season.
