The NLL Finals will take place during the start of PLL training camp, which means some of the players who play indoor and outdoor won’t be in Albany to start the season. Make sure to check out the NLL finals on May 27th at 7pm, May 29th at 4pm, and if it goes to a third game (which we hope it does because who doesn’t want more lacrosse) June 3rd 7:30pm. All games are on ESPN+ and TSN+. This means that the Archers will be missing Defenseman Warren Jeffrey and SSDM Tim Edwards at training camp. Jeffrey missed all of last PLL season due to an injury, so it will be great see him back on the field next to Matt McMahon and Greame Hossack. In their place the Archers have added Defensemen Andrew Darby and Ryan Sharkey from the player pool.

Thoughts, Facts, & Camp Position Battles (CPB)

  • Three Connor's and two Ryan's on the roster for the Archers

  • CPB: Who gets the starting faceoff spot for the Archers, who have had their issues at that position for the last few seasons. Will it be rookie Mike Sisselberger or one of the sophomores Inacio or Labetti?

  • CPB: The Archers have MULTIPLE players who can take a defensive midfield shift, so does Chris Bates pick 1 true SSDM and a bunch of guys that can play two ways, or does he go back to his previous setup of 3 SSDMs that he used in the last two summers.

  • I hope to see the massive defenseman lineup of Hossack 6'2, Jeffery 6'3, and McMahon 6'4 out there this summer.

  • I'm excited to see new numbers on the rosters along with the updated uniforms for the men in blue and orange.

  • This season the Archers will be without Scott Rattliff and Dominique Alexander two players who were part of the Archers franchise since the beginning, but who retired after the 2022 season. The Archers also lost attackmen Marucs Hollman and Will Manny to free agency along with goalie Adam Ghitelman. Their energy, effort, leadership, and skill will be missed for the men in blue and orange. Lots of change is coming to this Archers' roster in 2023.
